Announcements & SPECIAL SESSION – Let’s Improve HMDA Together
We will cover some important information to guide you through Day Two of the conference to ensure you get the most out of the event. Then we will launch into our first session of the day.
After a few years with expanded HMDA data collection, a new submission process, and changes to thresholds for reporting; what have we learned? Join a discussion with the CFPB on how we can initiate positive engagement to improve HMDA together. This means making the process easier for lenders while addressing the intent of the regulation, as well as community engagement and the purposes of HMDA policymaking. Attendees are encouraged to submit suggestions for improvements here to the CFPB panelists prior to the live session.
Speakers:
Eric Spry – Program Manager | T&I HMDA Operations, CFPB
Patrick Orr – Mortgage Markets | Research, Markets and Regulations, CFPB
Tim Lambert – Senior Counsel – Fair Lending & Equal Opportunity Division of Supervision, CFPB
Jason Dietrich – Section Chief, Research, Markets and Regulations, CFPB

CRA Today – What’s Next?
CRA has been the focus of regulators, community groups, industry associations, and financial institutions for the past several years. Most agree that change is needed, and the OCC has initiated that change for the banks they regulate. The examination process has been evolving to incorporate elements of CRA modernization without an actual change to the regulation. This session will address current and future challenges of adapting to whatever comes next.

Darren Welch – Counsel, Litigation; Government Enforcement and White Collar Crime, Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, LLP
Krista Shonk – Vice President, Regulatory Compliance & Policy, ABA
